Region 5 is a large region including Curry, Douglas, Coos, Curry, Josephine, and Jackson Counties.
Region 5 is comprised of a “network” of intercessors and leaders from all the above counties committed to bringing prayer to the forefront of everything we do in Southern Oregon. It’s been a busy prayer season for Region 5 and God is answering prayer!
Stacey Hopkins and Ruth Wilson, prayer connectors in Curry and Coos counties, are gearing up for a powerful time of prayer beginning April 1st. Ruth adds, “This will be a seven day, 24/7, county-wide-prayer-watch, with over 14 participating churches praying steadfastly for a renewal of God’s Holy Spirit to begin healing people and communities.”
In Douglas County, Lynn Ferder and Kathy Scriven, prayer Connectors have been equally as fervent, gathering each weekday morning in the Seek God for Your City 2017 – 40 Days of Prayer to Palm Sunday for our Families, and our Communities. In Jackson County, Betty Denny, prayer connector and leader for I-5 Diamond Prayer Network continues connecting a network of intercessors who are committed to pray for a territory called the I-5 Diamond. She explains, “Several years ago, we were called the Jackson County Prayer Task Force. One of our intercessors had a picture of a ‘diamond shaped’ territory in Southern Oregon beginning at Roseburg in the North, and following the I-5 freeway down to Redding, and then the territory went East to Klamath Falls, and West to Brookings. When you look at the map it makes the shape of a diamond. In this territory there are 6 Southern Oregon counties, namely Douglas, Josephine, Jackson, Klamath, Coos, and Curry, plus 2 counties in Northern California, namely, Siskiyou and Del Norte counties.
Kim Chandler, Connector in Medford, is passionate about meeting with her team for prayer meetings and land prayer walks to gain territory for Jesus. The vision in the Southern Oregon region continues; to see Region 5 and the I-5 Diamond areas to join together in intercession to pray for awakening, and convergence of the Body of Christ – to rise up in unity to see a breakthrough outpouring of the Holy Spirit – bringing transformation to our region according to Acts 2:17.
